Amanda Dowd

Operations Manager

Amanda Dowd is a media and communications professional with a background in teaching humanities and film studies. She holds a BA in Humanities and an MLA in Humanities and Film Studies from The University of South Florida. She has a love for cultural theory and enjoys engaging in discussions about the relationship between film and culture. To dive deeper into filmmaking and to follow a passion for creative storytelling, Dowd decided to change career paths and recently earned a MA in Film and Media Production from American University in May 2025. 

 

Her experience includes producing, editing, directing, graphic design, and illustration. While enrolled in the Film and Media Production program, Dowd produced short films for the National Park Service and the 48-Hour Film Project in Washington, DC, and Richmond, VA. Growing up in the ecologically and culturally unique state of Florida, she's passionate about crafting compelling and meaningful stories that explore the intersection of wildlife conservation and the diverse stories of individuals.
